Millennium Studios

Millennium Pictures - New Studio

KSA designed a movie production studio and warehouse on approximately seven acres of land adjacent to downtown Shreveport, Louisiana. The studio, phase I of a 20-acre master plan, is located in the historic Ledbetter Heights neighborhood. This project is the first in a series of projects designed to redevelop the community – an effort created by the City of Shreveport.

The production studio is a two-story, 55,000-square-foot structure consisting of two soundstages, production offices and a commercial-grade kitchen. The building was constructed using a pre-engineered metal building system with a masonry façade. The interior finishes include commercial-grade carpet, paint, vinyl composition and ceramic tile. Insul-Quilt, a manufactured blanket of glass-wool faced with white fiberglass cloth and backed with aluminum foil, was used to insulate the sound in each of the soundstages and the construction mill. Each soundstage ranges from 10,000 to 15,000 square feet with support space and four cast rooms equipped with private restrooms, green rooms and space for wardrobes and hair and make-up. The project also includes a 20,000-square-foot vendor building.
