Congratulations to John Selmer, Architect, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, GGP, becoming a Registered Roof Consultant

KSA Engineers, Inc. (KSA) is pleased to announce that John Selmer, Architect, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, GGP has completed the process of becoming a Registered Roof Consultant.  To become a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), you must pass two separate examinations, General Consultant Exam and Registered Roof Consultant Exam, totaling 150 questions and can take up to eight hours to complete. Currently, there are only 453 RRCs in the United States and Canada. 

To receive the RRC title, examinee's must prove proficient understanding of codes and standards; roofing materials and their inherent properties; roofing assemblies; performance analysis and design for wind, drainage, moisture and thermal considerations; quality assurance; and in-field and laboratory testing methods.

Registered Roof Consultants are independent roofing experts with industry-wide knowledge of materials, performance, and design requirements. They stand apart from suppliers, product manufactures and contractors. A RRC is knowledgeable in every facet of the roof construction process and serves as the building owner's council, or for matters pertaining to both existing and new construction.

John Selmer, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, GGP, RRC is the Architecture Team Leader for KSA.  He is a LEED Accredited Professional and recognizes the need for smart design that utilizes environmentally conscious strategies that will ensure our decisions, designs, and projects of today do not inhibit the opportunities of future generations. He has extensive experience in all aspects of architectural projects and has served as project manager for projects of all varieties and sizes.

He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Tulane University (1993), Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Civil Engineering from Tulane University (1994), and Master of Architecture from Tulane University (2004). John is licensed in Louisiana, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Colorado.
