Golden Road Water Treatment

Backwash Pump Station at Golden Road

KSA was hired by the City of Tyler to review and analyze the Golden Road Water Treatment Plant with regard to current equipment as it relates to disinfection and propose changes to the treated water storage in clear wells by curtain wall baffling. The project consisted of preliminary engineering, design, bidding and construction phase services for a filter backwash station including pumps, concrete structures, piping, valves, electrical control and instrumentation design and appurtenances work to bring the backwash supply system into compliance with the current Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) design criteria.

To begin, we prepared a CT study that incorporated the current and proposed disinfection practices and reviewed the study with city staff. We then, submitted our study to the TCEQ and coordinated its acceptance. After design surveying and construction surveying, we also provided project observation while the repairs were being made.
