Southern Utilities 12 Inch Water Line

Southern Utilities 12-Inch Water Line

KSA was selected by Southern Utilities Company to design approximately 11,154 linear feet of 12-inch diameter C-900 waterline to be installed in the new east and west right-of-way on FM 2493 in Tyler, Texas. The TxDOT widening of the FM 2943 required the relocation of an existing 6-inch water line located within TxDOT ROW. Due to the growth in the Southern Utilities service area, KSA was asked to increase the line size to provide better and more consistent service to the areas serviced by the waterline. Construction included TxDOT road crossing by dry bore, gate valves, fire hydrants, connection to existing water lines, and associated water line appurtenances.

KSA engineers worked diligently to make sure that all existing water lines remained in service until the newly constructed water line was placed. The waterline was replaced and KSA was able to redesign the inaccurate ROW to make the project a success.
