Scurry County Air Museum Hangar and Paving Improvements

KSA designed a box hangar for Scurry County that would serve as a facility for a local chapter of the Texas Air Museum. The site included a 12,000 square foot apron footprint occupied by a 100-foot by 120-foot hangar. To access the site, a 400-foot taxiway connection was provided. Key design tasks included the design of the site layout, taxiway, grading, drainage, pavement and water/sewer. Approximately 3,000 cubic yards of fill (or embankment) were required to address taxiway grade challenges as the land slopes away from the taxiway. Careful consideration was given to the grading to assure it would be in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) criteria and economical to develop.
