Craig Phipps, P.E., is KSA’s Aviation Practice Director and Vice President and serves on KSA’s Board of Directors. Craig’s primary role is to ensure that KSA’s clients receive exceptional customer service and engineering and planning projects that exceed the client’s expectations. Craig oversees a team of 30 KSA Associates who focus exclusively on airport improvements within the Southwest Region of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Craig maintains professional, partnering relationships with the FAA and Texas Department of Transportation Aviation Division, the two aviation grant funding agencies in Texas. As a member of KSA’s Board of Directors, and a 30-year employee of KSA, Craig reinforces KSA’s culture of putting the customer’s needs first.

Craig graduated with honors from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering in 1992 and has spent his entire 30-year professional career with KSA. He is a registered professional engineer, licensed in the state of Texas. Craig’s 30 year professional career has focused on aviation with the last 27 years concentrating almost exclusively on airport improvements, planning and development. His design experience encompasses a broad range of airside facilities including pavement and drainage improvements for runways, taxiways, aprons and perimeter roads; electrical improvements for medium and high intensity runway edge lights, taxiway edge lights, airfield signage, Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPIs), Runway End Identifier Lights (REILs), rotating beacons and lighted wind cones; various aircraft storage hangar styles; and terminal buildings.
